NEW! INTENSIVE IELTS COURSES, 6 HOURS PER DAY! STANDARD PRICES!
IELTS is CRITICAL for entry to universities in Britain , but is increasingly gaining ground in the USA and elsewhere.
Students need to get the score required by their employer or univeristy. To get the score you need, you must put in the hours! There is no other way, though we shall continue to offer a 3-hour IELTS course for now.
If you are not ready for IELTS, you can, of course, join a pre-IELTS class.
The IELTS test covers:
reading 60 minutes, writing 60 minutes, listening 30 minutes, and speaking about 15 minutes. The total test time is therefore approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.
The tests are held: weekly on Saturdays at various Centres in London but if you have a deadline, book your course 6-8 weeks ahead. We will do our best to advise you and get you the Test date you need, but Test Centres are often very busy and we cannot accept responsibility for delays not of our making!
Our aim is to raise your IELTS score:
- to familiarise you with the examination format
- to impart the techniques you need to approach the test
- to increase your understanding of the spoken language
- to increase your confidence and ability in speaking, reading and writing English.
If your level of English is good enough, you can join an Academy IELTS class on any Monday, and take the IELTS test when you are ready for it. Your teachers will tell you!
The School will make the IELTS entry on your behalf, though you must pay the examination fees.
The time you need to study for the IELTS test will vary. Some students need only a short course; others need much more time to achieve the test score they require for their work or studies. Your teacher will tell you when you are ready.
If you do not get the score you need, you can take the test again at any time, but you are unlikely to improve your score without extra study!
IELTS training includes the use of English in:
* understanding and evaluating texts
* interpreting diagrams, tables and graphs,
* writing reports or academic essays,
* understanding authentic listening passages,
* speaking on a variety of topics
* reading with understanding, and much, much more.
